Shepherd's Hut - Sleeps 2
This lovely shepherd’s hut, named after our herd of free-roaming cattle, is made from unpainted, recycled corrugated tin and situated on the edge of ancient woodland, overlooking the wild flower meadow.
The door is situated at the short end of the hut facing the setting sun, with a covered veranda and outside chairs.
The interior is ingeniously constructed using reclaimed timber. There is ample storage space underneath the bed for luggage. An antique wooden table with table flaps and two antique wooden chairs provide convivial seating space inside the hut.
The ‘Hobbit’ wood-burning stove has a glass door so you can watch the flames, with a stove-top kettle and a Bialetti coffee-maker.
The double bed is 5ft wide x 6ft long – suitable for most adults - and situated at one end of the hut, surrounded by three walls, making it cosy and warm on even the chilliest of nights. However we suggest taller guests may be more comfortable in a king-size bed in one of our tents.
The bed has a luxury natural fibre mattress, feather duvet and four down pillows, pure Egyptian cotton bed-linen and colourful recycled wool blankets.
Lighting is provided by a battery hurricane lamp, two bedside reading lights, and a candle lantern.
Outside, the hut has its own upcycled fire-pit and barbeque grill, with two hardwood outside chairs.
"A fantastic place to unwind and slip back to a time when turtle dove, cuckoo and nightingale were plentiful, a place where every oak is crowned with a purple emperor. Wonderful campsite and shepherd’s huts."
